Entirely optional. Everything on this site — including verification work — can be done without one.

What an account gets you: a private record of your own verification work, a watchlist that filters the site to the members you follow, saved searches, and the option to be listed as a contributor.

What it does not get you: extra weight. A signed-in reading counts exactly the same as an anonymous one. There is no leaderboard and no public ranking, ever.

What we store

  • Your username, a hash of your password, and an email only if you gave one.
  • Your readings, watchlist, and saved searches.
  • A session cookie, so you stay signed in. Signed-out visitors are never given one.
  • No real name, no tracking, no third parties. See Methodology.
